This course covers various areas in electro technical technology. It can lead to further study or NVQ Diploma Level 2 if you gain employment as an apprentice. You will cover the following elements: Principles of electrical science Electrical installations technology Health and safety within the building services industry
What you need to get on
You will need four GCSEs at Grade 4 or above including English and Maths. Science would be an advantage, but is not essential. An interest in becoming employed in the electrical installation trade is important and will need to be demonstrated at interview.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
