What the college says
The Level 2 Diploma in Music Performance and Production is a one year course and is equivalent to three GCSEs. This course is aimed at aspiring musicians producers, sound engineers (live and studio) and students that want to be involved in music and sound for media such as, Games, Film and TV. If you enjoy a creative, hands on approach to music performance and production, our course will enable you to make the kind of music you have been dreaming about. The course covers music performance techniques, digital recording and mixing techniques, music sequencing, music and sound production, the music industry practices, original music composition. The college has two recording studios and four computer music suites (two PC based and two Mac based). In the Music Production Department. You will learn industry standard sequencers that includes Cubase, Pro Tools and Logic Pro. The course team comprises entirely of qualified teaching staff that have been sourced from industry and remain active within their profession.
What you need to get on
This course is designed for students aged 16 or above. Your English and Maths will need to be at a minimum of level 1 which is GCSE D-E (4-1) standard. You must have at least 1 GCSE at a minimum of grade D (3) or equivalent.
