What the college says

This course is a great choice if you are new to the electrical industry and want to become a qualified electrician. This diploma is the industry's most recognised route for qualification as an electrician and you can work in the domestic, commercial or industrial sectors.

What you need to get on

GCSE English and maths at grade 4 and above OR Functional Skills maths and English Level 2. (Equivalent qualifications from overseas will be considered.) If applicant has a grade 3 in English or maths GCSE, they will need to retake that/those exam(s) and have a successful interview. In order to be considered for progression to the next level of Electrical courses students need to have 85%+ attendance in their current course.

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
