10% of children and young people (aged 5-16 years) have a clinically diagnosable mental health problem, yet 70% who experience mental health problems have not had the support they need. This qualification will increase your knowledge and awareness of children and young people's mental health. By completing the qualification, you will develop knowledge of mental health in children and young people which would support progression onto further qualifications and into relevant employment in the health and social care or education sector. In this qualification, the term 'children and young people' refers to an age range of 5-18 years old.
