What the college says
This course will equip you with knowledge and understanding across a range of topics, and prepares you for further study at Level 3, or to work in a range of roles within the health and social care sector. You will attend college for one day a week and take part in classroom lessons. These lessons will be interactive and engaging, promoting group discussions and both group and independent tasks. It is recommended that you are undertaking work placement activities during the course, which may form part of your existing job role.
What you need to get on
A successful interview and GCSE Grade 3 or equivalent in English. You should have an interest in the subject, and experience of working in the Health & Social Care sector will also be considered.
How you are assessed
Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
