This course is ideal for learners who are wanting to begin a journey into the dog grooming industry. It will build the skills and knowledge to be able to work under supervision in a dog grooming salon. The course is run within a commercial salon at the college. Allowing a more realistic insight into a dog grooming career.It is a practical course, however, there is some theory throughout the course also.

What you need to get on

You must have a keen interest in dog grooming and complete a remote interview.Entry Requirements include:Maths and English grade D/3 and above.Confidence in handling and moving a range of dog breeds, sizes and differing behaviours.£220 kit fee paid on interview, if successful.*If we feel the interview has not fully demonstrated your suitability for the course, a practical interview may be requested*

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
