The UAL Level 1 Diploma in Art, Design and Media is designed to provide learners with a foundational introduction to creative practice across a range of art and design disciplines. The course supports learners who are motivated by practical, hands-on learning and wish to develop confidence, creativity and core skills within a supportive and structured environment. Learners will explore a variety of materials, techniques and processes while developing an understanding of both historical and contemporary art and design practice. The qualification encourages experimentation, risk-taking and reflection, enabling learners to build a portfolio of work that demonstrates their creative development and readiness for progression.

What you need to get on

You will need a minimum of 2 GCSEs at grade 2 (E) or above, including English and Maths. A strong interest in art, design, and architecture is essential. A portfolio of creative work may be requested.

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.
