The course is made up of the following units covering aspects of Uniformed Public Services, Sport Studies and Personal development: - Module 1 Being Organised. Developing a Personal Progression Plan. Planning and Navigating a Route. Module 2 Working with Others. Researching a Topic. Assisting in a Sports Activity. Taking Part in Fitness Testing. Module 3 Communicating with Customers. Playing Sport. Keeping Active and Healthy. Compulsory residential activities to develop team work and practical skills are an integral part of the course. There is an additional cost to cover these trips, day trips, PT kits, travel costs associated with residential and guest speakers. This charge is paid at enrolment and is non-refundable. The Learner Support Fund is available and could help assist in paying towards these fees. Employability skills gained on a Level 1 Vocational Studies course include: Developing a Personal Progression Plan Being Organised. Being able to plan and navigate a Route Being able to assist with the planning and leadership of leisure activities. The Importance of a Healthy Lifestyle. Able to Improve Own Fitness. Understand the positive effects regular exercise has on physical, mental and emotional well-being.

What you need to get on

You will need 2 GCSEs at grade 2 (E) or above, general education and an active interest in either the Sport & Active Leisure Industry or Uniformed Services. Also, good attendance and conduct record and completion of a fitness test.

How you are assessed

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.

A first step that builds towards Level 2.
