What the college says
This study programme is specially designed for you to explore career options alongside English and maths qualifications. You can focus on either childcare and early years, health and social care or public services. Successful completion of this course will enable you to progress onto one of our Level 2 courses in early years, health and social care or public services. The qualification you will study is a BTEC Level 1 Vocational Studies programme, which is ideal for you if you are undecided about what career path to take. The course has been specially designed to give you tasters in a variety of different careers, including childcare, adult healthcare and public services, before deciding on a specialism later in the year. At the same time, you will continue to develop your maths, English and IT skills to support your future progression. You will complete a range of different modules which will include topics such as "working in a team" and "self-assessment" and "career progression". In addition, you will complete modules in each of the vocational areas, such as "public service careers" and "encouraging children to eat healthily".
