Course Overview This programme has been designed to give you the opportunity to pick up some cores skills and knowledge that gives you the opportunity to progress onto the level 2 full time programme or a level 3 apprenticeship programme if placement secured. With teaching and instruction from specialist staff you will gain an understanding of and a variety of practical skills which include: Wiring and terminals. Fabrication techniques. Electrical science and technology. Structure of the construction industry. Environmental and sustainability measures in domestic dwellings. Site preparation in the construction industry. Health and safety is of paramount importance in all areas of the construction industry, and this will be reinforced throughout the course. Vocational core skills of English and Maths will be embedded in the programme along with specialist delivery to enable learners to continue developing their skills in these areas. Additionally, the course will focus on meeting industry requirements by ensuring learners acquire the practical and technical skills that employers demand. In addition to the specialist skills described above, we will help you to develop a range of wider skills that will make you into a well-rounded professional who will be highly valued by employers and universities. What you need to get on

To access this course, you will need to have 2 GCSEs to include grade 4 or above in maths and Grade 3 or above in English language, general education and a keen interest in the world of Electrical installations. You will have a keen, enthusiastic interest in the world of Electrical installations and have a satisfactory reference from your last school or college tutor with an attendance record of 87% or above (Actual attendance).
