What the college says

This Level 1 course provides an ideal introduction to land-based industries, including animal care, agriculture and equine and will help you decide if these are areas in which you would like to work. You will take part in a variety of exciting practical projects, both on the estate working with cattle, sheep and horses and in the animal care unit with a variety of animals such as rodents, reptiles and birds. There are educational visits to such places as zoological gardens, wildlife parks, farms, agricultural shows or markets.

What you need to get on

A minimum of four GSCEs at grade 2, including English and maths or successful completion of a Foundation or Entry Level 3 qualification and good progress with English and maths.

How you are assessed

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.

A first step that builds towards Level 2.
