If you are a native speaker of Italian and maybe already have a GCSE Italian qualification, you should definitely consider studying A Level Italian at OSFC. This course goes beyond grammar and vocabulary, offering a unique opportunity to learn about contemporary Italian society. You will improve your Italian linguistic skills with engaging lessons and learn about Italian culture, history, society, and traditions. In your first year, topics studied will include changes in family structures, education, world of work, music, media and Italian cultural heritage. In the second year, themes will include the impact of immigration on Italian society, North/South divide, the rise of Mussolini, Fascism in WW2, and the birth of democracy.

What you need to get on

A minimum of 5 passes (grade 4 or above) at GCSE, including in both English and Maths (not including Level 2 vocational qualifications).

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
