The Level 1 Introduction to Sport Diploma will help you to develop the underpinning knowledge required to progress onto a Level 2 Sport qualification. This course contains practical units to improve your coaching and instructing ability whilst improving on your confidence and professionalism. Alongside the physical aspects, the course also teaches the basic foundations to help you understand the industry and the academic and employer related skills that will be required. On this course you will enjoy many different units and assessment methods which will build your skill base in preparation for a Level 2 qualification. Alongside our fantastic education pathway, learners will also be part of the Boston College Academy of Sport which will allow participation in regional and local competitions in many sports. This year, learners accessing our provision, will be able to take part in the 'prestigious' Association of Colleges Football league. Students will have training built into their timetable, receive training from a Licensed UEFA B football coach and build on their personal, technical, tactical and physical attributes. Elite education and elite sports participation at its best!
What you need to get on
Entry requirements are two GCSEs at grades 2 or above (Old GCSE grade E or above) or equivalent (to include English or maths), or any one of the following, an Entry 3 qualification, a Certificate in Skills for Working Life or Life Skills, an ESOL Entry L3 qualification.
How you are assessed
Two-year technical qualification with a 45-day industry placement. Equivalent to three A levels.
