The VTCT Level 2 Diploma in Women's hairdressing is a qualification that has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills in; the creative art of cutting and colouring hair and how to provide an effective consultation service for clients.Underpinning this qualification you will develop a sound knowledge of health and safety whilst working in the hairdressing industry.You will also develop a knowledge and understanding of the practical skills learned throughout this qualification.The purpose of this qualification is to develop your practical skills to a high level of occupational ability to enable you to perform your own salon services.

What you need to get on

Maths and English grades 4 and above is required for this qualification. If you receive a grade 3 for either English OR Maths we will consider your application. You will be required to take part in a practical skills scan that will help us determine your starting point. This may alter the level we place you on.

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
