What the college says
The programme consists of nine units including diagnosis and maintenance of major automotive systems. You will carry out assessed workshop tasks and classroom sessions to learn the underpinning knowledge which will be assessed by written question papers, oral questioning, small assignments and on-line assessments. Progress and assessment will be continually monitored. The Automotive Department has excellent workshops, classrooms and dedicated diagnostic facilities.
What you need to get on
You will need to have successfully completed the Level 1 Certificate or pass a question and answer interview with the lecturer.
How you are assessed
Two-year technical qualification with a 45-day industry placement. Equivalent to three A levels.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
