What the college says

This course is aimed at anybody interested in learning about the full range of routine vehicle fitting procedures. It provides essential knowledge and skills for vehicle mechanics working on a variety of vehicles. It covers both theoretical and practical aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair, with assessments consisting of practical demonstration, written assignments, and online tests. The course focuses on employability skills to aid your progression. As part of the course, we will provide overalls, safety boots and safety glasses. There is a course fee of £50 for all learning materials, including E-books.

What you need to get on

Four GCSEs at grade 4/C or above including English and maths.

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
