What the college says
THE AIMS OF THE COURSE (i) to offer you the opportunity to study History in length, breadth and depth across a variety of periods and topics. (ii) to develop expertise in a variety of skills such as analysis, communication, evaluation and interpretation. (iii) to produce your own ideas, theories and arguments based on personal research. This research (and discussion) should reinforce the idea that truth in History is not black and white, but opinion based on evidence, and therefore a questioning approach will be developed. (iv) to promote a course which is genuinely interesting, is self-contained and which will also serve as a preparation for those who want to study History in higher education.
