UNITS OF STUDY A-Level Unit 1: The Tudors: England 1485-1603 This breadth study traces the key development of the Tudor period such as religious change, social issues, political developments and foreign events. You will study the key events and individuals that make this one of the most gripping periods of British History Unit 2: Revolution and Dictatorship: Russia, 1917-24 In this depth study you will focus in detail on the causes and development of the Russian Revolution in 1917, the establishment of a one-party state, the rise to power of Stalin, and the nature of his dictatorship in Russia. Unit 3: Historical Enquiry: Civil Rights in the USA 1863-present You will examine the development of Civil Rights in the USA, including the most significant advances of the period, key individuals, the role of civil rights groups and the government. You will then devise, plan and answer your own historical enquiry of 3000 words based on a person, event or change from this period.
