What the college says

In History at A-Level we aim to broaden both historical knowledge and skills. The periods covered centre on the Tudor period in England and early communist Russia. These periods of British and European History were times of significant change in government and society. In addition, you will study a fascinating range of people and events and complete an independent Historical Enquiry. This course is a linear A-Level and divided into three main units of study. The topics covered are 'Tudor England, 1485-1603' and 'Revolution and Dictatorship, Russia 1917-1953'. You will also complete a Historical Enquiry where you will study ‘US Civil Rights c1865-c1992’ then choose a key area or theme from this period to focus on in more depth.
