As well as being immensely enjoyable in its own right, studying History at A-Level will ensure that you are studying an academically rigorous subject which is well respected by both universities and employers alike. History gives students an insight into major developments which have shaped the modern world and helps them to understand issues and events which make the headlines today. History fits well with various combinations, such as Classical Civilisation, Economics, English, and Government & Politics.

What you need to get on

Level 3 Academic Route Entry Requirements: Minimum of five Grade 5s or above in separate subjects. A minimum of a Grade 5 in English or Maths and at least a Grade 4 in the other. Each subject will also have their own entry criteria which have to be adhered to.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
