A-Level History is an ideal choice if you have an inquiring, critical or analytical mindset. It combines very well with other humanities or social science subjects and is an ideal contrasting subject for science and maths.

What you need to get on

Five GCSEs at grade 4 or above including Maths. Grade 5 or above in GCSE English Language. Grade 5 or above in GCSE History (if taken) or another GCSE written subject eg. History, Geography, Humanities, English Literature or Religious Studies (full course).

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
