What the college says

History develops students’ understanding of the past and provides them with an overview of the change and continuity in human history. Our range of units allows students to explore key areas of political and social history in Britain, Europe and the wider world. The course will help students develop essential transferable skills such as communication, analysis, interpretation and evaluation. History challenges students intellectually; developing their knowledge and understanding of social, political, economic and religious themes that are still relevant in the 21st century. History encourages students to take an active role in their own learning and the varied ways in which the course is delivered helps them to enjoy their learning, as well as improving their understanding of how today’s world came to be.
