What the college says

This is a two year course and will be examined in year 13. The course will give you insight into why individuals in the past made decisions that changed the shape of world history  The course will provide important insights into key developments in the history of England in the 16th century and changes in the modern world during the late nineteenth and twentieth century. Such as the formation of the Church of England and the development of the Holocaust in Nazi Germany  The subject helps provide the depth of study which universities now demand and links usefully with many other subjects including Classical Civilisation, Government and Politics, Economics, Sociology and Psychology.  It allows students to develop written, research and analytical skills. The personal investigation you undertake will be very similar in style to an undergraduate university essay and will therefore prepare you well for future studies.
