What the college says

Level and Exam Board EDEXCEL A Level Why choose History? History is an academic subject welcomed by universities and employers alike and provides an excellent base for a surprising number of degrees, including law. What does the course involve? There are two units at AS and two further units for the full A Level. A full A Level therefore requires the study of all four units. At AS, we undertake two studies into twentieth century communist regimes. We follow the rise and fall of communism in the Soviet Union, from its origins in the 1917 revolution to its collapse in 1991. We also study the impact of Mao Zedong’s communist rule in China.
