History at Hinchley Wood School is lively, engaging and thought-provoking. The two chosen units cover a wide-range of themes that relate to the modern world through the familiarity of Britain and America. This is mixed with areas of debate and challenge to really stretch the historical mind. The department is supportive and caring and always available for students who need help.
What you need to get on
Entry to Hinchley Wood Sixth Form is dependent on achieving 7 GCSE passes, comprising level 9 - 4 grades. A minimum of grade 4 is required in Maths and English; as well as a grade 5 at GCSE History. If GCSE History was not studied then at least a Grade 5 in English Literature and English Language. These students will be considered on an individual basis
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
