What the college says
Why study History? Is there any future in it? What can you learn from History? 'History cannot guarantee tolerance though it can give it some intellectual weapons. It cannot open closed minds but it may sometimes leave a nagging grain of doubt in them.' If you want to make sense of the world we live in, if you enjoy studying the impact of individuals on their world, A Level History could be for you. We welcome students with a grade B or above at GCSE History. If you have not studied History at GCSE, you will need to demonstrate good writing skills and the ability to undertake independent research.
