What the college says

This one year course aims to give a broad understanding of the knowledge and skills that are essential when working with people. You will develop and sustain an interest in health, early years and education, social care, youth and community and issues that affect the care sector.

What you need to get on

3 GCSEs grade 9-3 (A*-D) or a related Level 1 vocational qualification including, English and maths. Equivalence of these qualifications will be considered. You will also need to complete a DBS (Disclosure Barring Service) check once enrolled, which the College will pay for if you are aged between 16�18 when you start the course.

How you are assessed

One subject in depth, assessed largely through coursework and projects.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
