What the college says
Students develop a knowledge and understanding of the German culture. AS & A level German aims to develop a wide range of linguistic skills through the study of different topic areas which are relevant to Germany and German speaking countries. These include topics such as the reunification of Germany, environmental issues, fashion and music, social problems and the media. Knowledge of German grammar is revised, extended and consolidated during Year 12 in particular. In Year 13 the emphasis is placed on developing high quality language in order to access higher grades.
