This course will satisfy any interest that you have in the history, society and culture of German-speaking nations, and their growing importance in the 21st century global landscape. As the founding member and economic power of the EU, German is a vital language for international relations, not least in the fields of technology, engineering and business. Spoken in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Luxembourg and Liechtenstein, as well as parts of other European countries such as Italy, France and Belgium, after English, it is the most popular foreign language to learn in Europe. This course will enable you to access a wide array of careers in a multitude of domains from science and technology, engineering, journalism, fashion, tourism, politics etc. Moreover, mastery of a foreign language will give you the advantage of being able to develop your skills further outside of the United Kingdom. You've probably heard it a million times already, but learning a new language can make you highly attractive to employers. If you enjoy understanding the mechanics of language, communicating with others and opening yourself to new experiences and cultures, this course is for you.
