The A Level German course is for students of a higher linguistic ability, who are preparing for a variety of possible futures in the spheres of higher education, business, science, medicine and engineering. The aims of the course are to develop in students a range of practical skills that will enable them to understand and communicate in written and spoken language for leisure purposes and in the world of work; to make students aware of the cultural, social, commercial aspects.

What you need to get on

Grade 6 at GCSE German at Higher Tier, although grade 7 is preferable.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
