Studying German gives students the opportunity to build on and expand their communication skills. The step up from GCSE is challenging, particularly in grammatical work, but you should find that this understanding of the mechanics of the language will enhance comprehension skills and broaden your understanding of both the language and culture of the country. The career paths for language learners are many and varied many professions consider having a qualification in a language and the communication skills that come with it a real asset. A Level students will acquire a good standard of spoken German, listening and reading comprehension, together with an ability to communicate successfully in written form.
