Students who study Geography possess an extremely marketable and sought after range of knowledge and understanding of the world around them. The AGCE Course focuses on the interrelationships between people and their varied environments and the questions, issues andproblems which arise from these relationships. Geographers develop enquiry, decision making, fieldwork and research skills which will prepare them well for Higher Education courses or a wide range of career choices. They also learn to appreciate the significance of human values in decision making and to think critically on a range of issues. Students that have studied Geography have gone onto a range of courses at university including: Masters in Geography and Geology; Environmental Science and Education with Geography. Edexcel Geography • Paper 1 – Physical paper covering Tectonic Hazards, Glaciation, Water and Carbon cycles, Water Scarcity and Energy (30%) • Paper 2 – Human Paper covering Globalisation, Regenerating Places, Superpowers and Global Connections (30%) • Paper 3 – Synoptic Paper (20%) • None-examined Assessment (NEA) – Independent study (20%)

Grade 6 in GCSE Geography Grade 5 in English and Grade 5 in Mathematics

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
