Geography will help you understand how people and societies relate to changes in the natural environment. You will learn how to evaluate attitudes to geographical and environmental issues. We will be following the Edexcel course – as shown below it is an exciting contemporary, issues-based course which we hope you will all enjoy. A-level Geography Both Physical and Human aspects of Geography are taught: Paper 1: Students will be taught and examined on Tectonic Hazards, Coastal Landscapes and Change, The Water Cycle and Water Insecurity, The Carbon Cycle and Energy Security as well as Climate Change Futures. (worth 30% of the course marks) Paper 2: The content for Paper 2 will involve Globalisation, Diverse places, Superpowers and Migration, Identity and Connections. (worth 30% of the course marks) Paper 3: This is a synoptic decision making style paper with a resource booklet which will draw together many aspects of the A-level course. (worth 20% of the course marks) In addition Students will carry out an independent investigation. (worth 20% of the course marks)
