The world in which we live is likely to change more in the next 50 years than it has ever done before. Our role in that change is more important than ever. Geography explains the changes and helps to prepare people. It is a subject about now and the future. As well as being a study of where places are and what they are like, the subject studies how and why they are changing and looks at the impacts of the changes taking place. What Will I Learn? Year 12: Tectonic Processes and Hazards, Coastal Landscapes and Change, Globalisation and Diverse Places. Year 13: The Water Cycle and Water Insecurity, The Carbon Cycle and Energy Insecurity, Superpowers and Migration, Identity and Sovereignty.

What you need to get on

6th Form entry: The overall 6th Form entry requirements are: a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades 9-4, including a grade 9-4 in English. Subject specific entry: GCSE Grade 4 in Geography or other Humanities subject

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
