Study at AS and A2 level is much more complex than at GCSE and more self-motivation is required. More study is done on your own and greater organisation of your time is very important.You will be expected to attend all lessons. Assignments will be set on a weekly basis and willinclude written work, reading and practical work. Geography helps with the learning of mostof the Key Skills. This covers cartography, word-processing, the evaluation and presentationof data.
What you need to get on
Minimum entry requirements are GCSE grades 6, 6, 5, 5, 5 and a 4 in English Language or Literature, including a grade 6 in Geography at GCSE. A GCSE grade 6 in English would be an advantage.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
