What the college says

Geography is a modern and engaging subject which gives students an understanding of the complex range of conflicts and issues affecting our planet. Topics in Year 12 include tectonic processes and hazards, coastal landscapes and change, globalisation and diverse places. Year 13 topics includes water and energy security, climate change futures, superpowers and global development. There is also an independent non-examined assessment project based on fieldwork and research completed throughout the two years of study. There will be a number of fieldwork days in the UK and a residential trip.

What you need to get on

An Average GCSE Point Score of 5 is required. English Language, Maths and Geography grade 5 are also requirements of this course.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
