Geography is a subject about the real world outside the classroom. It integrates many other subject areas such as Biology, Sociology, Geology, Economics, Environmental Sciences and Information Technology. It is regarded as a facilitating subject by the Russell Group of universities. It is a subject, which can be studied at university (as a science, art or economics degree) or in conjunction with a multitude of other subjects. The new specification has been designed to increase the choice offered to students studying GCE Geography, allowing for specialisation and progression to higher education and employment.

5 in Geography and an average of 5 in English Language and Maths plus at least three 9-5 grades in other GCSE subjects
