What the college says
Grade 4/5 in GCSE (previous Grade C) Mathematics is a frequent requirement of employers and an entry requirement for many institutions of higher education. This qualification enables learners to develop knowledge, skills and understanding of mathematical methods and concepts. You will acquire and use problem-solving strategies for everyday and real-world situations. You will learn to interpret and communicate mathematical information in a variety of ways appropriate to its context. You will study number, algebra, geometry and measure, probability and statistics.
What you need to get on
You will usually require Level 2 Maths or equivalent: an initial assessment of your skills will be made to determine your suitability for the course.
How you are assessed
Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
