A Level History at The West Coventry Sixth Form encourages you to explore the events and issues that have shaped the world we live in. The focus is on modern European history and 16th century British history, both with an emphasis on change and development over time. There is an opportunity to complete an in-depth study on a specially selected area of British or world history.
What you need to get on
Both internal and external pupils wishing to enter the sixth form will be expected to have met the same minimum academic entry requirements for the sixth form. This is a minimum of 3 GCSE grade 4s and grade 4 in English AND Maths. This course additionally requires grade 5 History and grade 5 English (6 preferred). Please note, we may adjust our offer each year. Check the school's website for up to date courses.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
