During this course you will read and listen to authentic foreign language materials and will study aspects of the contemporary society, cultural background and heritage of a country where the language is spoken. You will learn to be an effective communicator, to speak and write the language for different purposes, to use the language to express facts and ideas and to use the language to present explanations, opinions and information. At AS these skills will be practised using material based on the following topic areas: Aspects of German-speaking Society; and Artistic culture in the German-speaking world. At A Level the following themes are added on: Multiculturalism in German-speaking society; and Aspects of political life in the German-speaking world. At AS level and at A level you will also have the opportunity to study German literature and film.

6 GCSE 9-4 grades including Maths (4+) and English Language (4+)
