What the college says
Psychology is the study of the relationship between behaviour, performance and mental processes. Applied psychology is the application of this knowledge in order to understand events, treat mental health issues and understand individuals behaviour. Everyone taking this qualification will study three mandatory units, covering the following areas: applications of psychological approaches, conducting psychological research, health psychology. The qualification carries UCAS points and is recognised by higher education providers (Universities) to study Occupational Health, Education and Child Psychology, Forensic and Criminal Psychology.
What you need to get on
Students need to gain five 9-4 grades at GCSE which include 5-5 in science and a 5 in maths.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
