GCE A Level in Spanish
at Cecil Jones Academy · school or sixth form
What the college says
A-level Spanish builds on the knowledge, understanding and skills gained at GCSE. It constitutes an integrated study with a focus on language, culture and society. It fosters a range of transferable skills including communication, critical thinking, research skills and creativity, which are valuable to the individual and society. The content is suitable for students who wish to progress to employment or to further study, including a modern languages degree. Studying Spanish at A level broadens your access to other cultures; for example, through literature, film and independent travel. Speaking more than one language can open doors to international study and work opportunities, and it is seen as a valuable asset for many companies. Employers like to take on graduates who have a second and even a third language. In our globalised world, speaking and writing another language will help you to forge international links that are inaccessible to others.
