Being able to speak a foreign language is now an essential life skill in a globalised society in which international relationships are often a necessity for organisations and businesses to thrive. Studying Spanish at A Level will enhance the linguistic skills acquired at GCSE and extend your knowledge of Spanish and Latin American culture enabling you to communicate in both written and spoken Spanish as you move towards fluency. You will also explore the culture and politics of Spanish-speaking countries around the world as well as having the opportunity to take part in the Spanish Exchange programme to Madrid. You will study a film and a text and in the second year you will have an opportunity to carry out independent research on a topic of your choice.

5 grade 4 or above at GCSE level including a grade 5 or above in Spanish

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
