Religious Studies is an interesting and diverse subject which develops an understanding and appreciation of religious beliefs and teaching provides a critical approach to the consideration of moral and philosophical issues. Students are expected to have an interest in current affairs and to use an enquiring critical and empathetic approach to the study of religious, political and legal events and ethical developments in society. GCSE Religious Studies is not a pre-requisite for this course.

What you need to get on

This is a literacy based subject, so students must have gained a grade 5 in one of the following literacy based subjects: Grade 5 in GCSE English Language or Grade 5 in GCSE English Literature and Grade 5 in Religious Studies or Philosophy

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
