There are three key areas of skill competence that perspective students need to consider prior to choosing A-level psychology: 1) Essay writing skills: as a starting point, students need to be able to write clearly to show understanding of concepts and theories as well as a developing capacity for writing critically in examining the strengths and weaknesses of said theories. 2) Numeracy skill: students need to be capable of clear statistical thinking that understands ratios, percentages and trends in data, as well as extract information from tables and visual representations of data. 3) Research skill: students will need to engage in wider reading outside of lessons from the beginning of the course, identifying credible sources of information and extracting key information and conclusions from their readings.

Minimum of a grade 6 in GCSE Biology or GCSE English

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
