What the college says

Psychology is very interesting! You will be able to relate to it easily and it is very varied. One lesson you might be learning about how the brain and neurotransmitters affect our behaviour and the next you might be conducting your own research into prejudiced attitudes.

What you need to get on

You will need a good set of GCSE results, including a grade C in English, Maths and Science. You need to be good at science because Psychology is a science and uses scientific methodology when investigating human behaviour. You need to be good at Maths because Psychologists use statistics to analyse the results of their investigations. You also need to be good at English because you will need to be able to articulately evaluate and write coherent essays.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
