What the college says

In Physical Education you will study sports participation and performance in physical activity. Most of the course is classroom-based preparing you for a written exam. You will take part in practical lessons where you prepare for a verbal assessment. You will learn how to analyse a performer from your main sport and describe how you would improve their performance. The practical element of the course involves performing in two sports (this becomes one in year 13), your marks are determined by how good you are at applying skills and tactics effectively. You must already be taking part in competitive sport outside of school if you are to succeed.

What you need to get on

Grade 5 in Biology or 5 in the Biology components of Trilogy Science. Must regularly participate at a competitive standard.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
