What the college says
This course is for students who want to continue studying Philosophy and Ethics after GCSE, encouraging you to gain a thorough understanding of a diversity of philosophical and ethical viewpoints on some of life's most important and interesting questions. You'll already be familiar with some of the topics but the A level will give you the chance to study these and some new ones in much greater depth. It's a good combination with most other subjects you can study at A level.
What you need to get on
5 GCSEs at grade 4+ and a grade 5 or above in GCSE Religion and Philosophy.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
What this level means
The A-level-equivalent step, and what universities and employers ask for.
