A Level Philosophy is nothing like GCSE RE. It is a completely different course that shares the same name. We dive into concepts from a range of scholars’ views rather than from religious beliefs and teachings. A Level Philosophy gives you the skills you need to engage with big concepts, analyse texts, write essays, analyse arguments, draw logical conclusions and win debates with your friends. Our students tell us that studying philosophy and ethics has not only been an enjoyable A Level to study but has also enriched their lives. A Level Philosophy shares a lot of skills with other essay based A Levels like English, History and elements of social sciences.

What you need to get on

Grade 5-9 in GCSE Religious Studies. If Religious Studies was not studied at GCSE, then grade 5-9 in English.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.

The A-level-equivalent step, and what universities and employers ask for.
