This new A-Level comprises of 3 units which are Philosophy, Ethics and Developments in Christian Thought. Any student with an inquisitive mind will be stimulated and challenged by the Religious Studies course. Students will gain an insight into significant Philosophical, Ethical and Religious issues whilst their own belief system and thought process will develop in a rewarding way. This course will appeal to students who are interested in the big philosophical or ethical questions about the truth of science or gender equality and how the religion has developed in the modern world. It is for those who are interested in the ultimate questions of life, enjoy heated discussion, debate and critical thinking. Many other subjects work well with Philosophy and Ethics such as Humanities and the Arts but it is also a valuable complement to Science subjects.

What you need to get on

Three or more grade 5’s with the remainder at least grade 4 (including English Language and Maths at grade 4).

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
